I’m part of Leicester Lo-Fi, a group of photographers who work with film and alternative processes. We were donated an old camera: a Zentit E, a Russian camera produced between 1965 – 1982. It’s a lovely old camera, with a good lens.

Cultural Exchanges commissioned Priya Mistry to create Experiments In Performing Body And Voice. She created the piece in 4 days, with dancers and performing arts students from DMU. The following photos were taken during the creation of the piece, and the first performance.

TMTerrain make terrain for wargamers, toy soldier collectors. As part of a promotion, we had a very enjoyable evening shooting scenes with some borrowed figures. Some figures got used several times. Can you spot the repeats?
Grace Petrie wrote a song about Richard Feynman’s letter to his dead wife, Arline. Lucy Peel was so taken by it, that she made a video for it.

Hatch are a Nottingham based theatre and performing arts organisation who showcase live work from emerging and established artists from across the East Midlands. A couple of times a year, they wander down to Leicester and occupy Embrace Arts.

I thought I’d begin this series of blogs with a review of some of the things I’ve photographed in 2013.
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph Hannah Nicklin‘s series of theatre and performance art showcases: Performance In The Pub. There were three, this year, which, sadly, is the last of them. They were most enjoyable, and to me, a performance art novice, revealing of a whole new art form.
